Code-Division Multiple Access is a digital cellular
technology that uses spread-spectrum techniques. Unlike competing systems,
such as GSM, that uses TDMA, CDMA does not assign a specific frequency
to each user. Instead, every channel uses the full available spectrum.
The CDMA standard has caught on in the United States and China as an
alternative to the more popular GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications)
standard for wireless communication. Hence, we view it as a future market
for wireless communication and are in the process of developing wireless
communication products that are based on CDMA technology. Several of
our products are already in prototyping phase and are estimated to be
ready in the second quarter of 2004.
